Shut Eye is the company that makes all those compilation CDs, right?

Yep. We've released music by more than
800 artists since 1996 through our trademark compilation medium. Our Americana compilation CDs are promotional in design. We push them to radio to get the artists heard. We love making and promoting compilations because they best represent the best artists in the Americana radio format. Most of these artists would go virtually unheard if not for their appearance on our various artist releases. Shut Eye compilations are THE BEST and LEAST EXPENSIVE way for radio station program and music directors, as well as the listening audience to get introduced to new artists because these are songs that best represent the artists.

In addition to your compilation releases, what exactly does Shut Eye Records & Agency do?

We get this one a lot. There is no other company in the music industry like us. Here's the canned, short answer: We are a record label, radio promotions agency, publicity firm, and CD & DVD manufacturing plant. We fancy ourselves a musical think tank for the thinking musician. Click the links and surf about our site to learn more. If you're still stumped, pick up the phone and call the label boss directly.

Will someone from Shut Eye Records & Agency come see my band play?

Let us know when you are playing here in Atlanta so we can make arrangements to come see you and watch you rock and/or roll.

We need a booking agent. Can you help my band with booking shows?

We book bands and special events at the Atlanta Brewing Company.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

The woodchuck, or groundhog, is one of the best known wild mammals in the United States, but few realize this rodent is a member of the Squirrel Family. Its common name, woodchuck, is an anglicized corruption of an Indian name for this species. The origin of its other name, groundhog, is obvious from the animal's squatty appearance, waddling gait and habit of living in the ground. The statement above suggests that a woodchuck is unable to chuck wood, however on a recent trip to Missouri, someone we know personally witnessed a woodchuck chucking wood. We were informed that it was a significant amount for such a little fella.

The moral to the story is that great things (like the groundhog) come in small packages. While Shut Eye is a small company, we pack a powerful punch. We chuck a lot of wood. Meet the people who make this little lumberyard move and groove. They are the reason Shut Eye rocks. They put the "functional" in our motto: "functional hedonism".
