over and over again because of our dedication to their projects. We never
have more than one record a week going for adds because every client deserves
our complete attention. We always make sure our clients stay informed of their
progress at individuals stations and on the charts. We seek phone interviews
(phoners) and live performaces at stations, plus we even provide a station ID
service for artists to maximize their results.
In addition to our custom
radio campaigns, we also produce a specialty "radio-only"
series of compilation CDs entitled, The United State
of Americana. These CDs are very successful. Every volume charts in the Top
100. We
track our promotions results via the Americana
Music Association radio chart, the EuroAmericana
chart, 3rd Coast Music Magazine's Freeform
American Roots (FAR) chart, the Roots
Music Report and with each individual station. Americana,
as defined by the Americana Music Association, is "American
roots music based on the traditions of country. While the musical model can be
traced back to the Elvis Presley marriage of 'hillbilly music' and R&B that
birthed rock n roll, Americana as a radio format developed during the 1990's as
a reaction to the highly polished sound that defined the mainstream music of that
decade. Today, and in a more broader sense, Americana
is music that honors and is derived from the traditions of American roots music.
It is music inspired by American culture traditions which is not only represented
in classic man made / roots based sounds but also through new and contemporary
artists whose music is clearly inspired by these great traditions. It is a great
genre, vast, like jazz which encompasses a wide range of music. Like jazz, which
spans from Miles Davis to Harry Connick to the Preservation Hall, Americana's
range includes artists like Gram Parsons, Soloman Burke, The Band, Lucinda Williams,
Lyle Lovett, Mavis Staples..."
Radio Research's study on Americana
radio found the demographic profile of the listener to be predominantly male between
the ages of 25-44, having 4+ years of college education, making over $40,000 per
year, and very active in purchasing cds and attending live concerts.
